Hi Rick,

What Jim McKenzie said is true the 8pin video cable with seperate chroma & luma won't work. But the 5 pin compositie output will work. As he said these can be bought inexpensively. You can also create your own with a 5 pin din connector and a stereo rca audio cable cut in half. I've made several of these using 1 cable cut in half and 2 din connectors to make 2 of these cables. The pinouts should be available online if your familiar with soldering stuff up yourself. It's been a few years since I looked but one of the Vic manuals may have the pinout as well.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at maybe picking up a 1702 color monitor to use with my VIC-20. Is there a special cable I need to pair the two up? I have the gear to hook it to a TV - do I just need the C64 cables that plugs into the 5-pin video port? Thanks!
