When did you start noticing the slow down? Did you add any more
applications to your Citrix implementation that could cause more
bandwidth to be used? Have you tried calling your Frame-relay provider
to see if they have any troubleshooting recourse on the frame-relay
cloud? It could be a problem with the cloud...maybe the teleco is
expiriencing some problems with a piece of equipment not transmitting
properly...

Thanks.

The more I talk with my co-workers, the more we wonder what the root
cause is. They run SAP from there to the corporate office as well, and
that has slowed along with the Citrix disconnects, which is what got us
watching the link in the first place.

Wondering if that link now has such high latency, that these items
simply have to retransmit, as they are not getting through.

Have you tried isolating any runs with this problem. I.E. taking the
wireless out of the equation, or the hard-wired office by removing them
physically from the network? The reason I ask is that you could have a
"chatty" NIC or interface out there. Also, if you have any cheaper
devices performing NAT, try removing them as well. One more thing, if
you can set it up to be so, remove the router from the office/wireless
end and let it sit out on the frame-relay naked. See if removing
equipment will help you narrow down where the potential problem is
coming from.

Here is the layout at plant A.

512K frame from corporate (frame location) to the plant.

All shop floor PC's are wireless, running full client, 6.30.1050. All
office users are wired, running NFUSE, 6.30.1050.

Retransmission is high to both wireless shop floor PC's, as well as
wired office pc's.

How much traffic do you have flowing over that 512 Frame-relay? Also,
are the clients on the wireless portion Citrix only or do you have some
"fat" clients as well? If so, are the "fat" clients expiriencing any
problems?

Some of the remote clients are wireless within their respective plant.

The link from the farm to the remote plant is 512K frame?

What kind of remote links are we talking about here? I have seen on
this list problems with Citrix and Wireless connections. Something
about the latency of wireless messing with Citrix. The other thing I
have learned from my esteamed collegues here is that Citrix is somewhat
touche about connections. It doesn't like any latency, connections have
to be clean and big <-- seen this from expirience too. So, what kind of
links are you running to your remotes?

I have added the TcpMaxDataRetransmissions=5 entry and rebooted.

Same issue still seeing a great deal of retransmission. Remote
connections seem to be about 1/2 of all packets sent from server to
client, are retransmitted. This is frustrating.

Does not seem to affect anything local to our corporate campus. Must
something to do with link latency, but what, and how do I go about
fixing it?

Chad
