Jim: I like the applesauce jar test. That is much cheaper than the splitter. I wonder if it could be a permanent fix. I would love to use it on the 169's, those splitters are $65 now, the good ones at least. I would have to use a mason though, we don't have applesauce. I don't know if my problem is the splitter unless it can be this intermittent, I mean I have not even seen the sets shutdown. The bad thing about replacing anything on this set, especially a expensive SSB board is that I will never know if it is fixed, since I have never seen them shutoff. What a mess? I would be better off playing Eeny Meeny Miney Moe. I just finished installing a new HV splitter in one, D52W19BYX2 ITC222, for a constant shut off and back on problem. It would sometimes stay on long enough to get a raster but most times it would go off before or as soon as the raster started to show. Simple method to verify the splitter to be the cause in this case since the problem was constant was to pull the 4 HV wires from it, connect them all together, shove them into an applesauce jar, empty of course, and set works fine. Find a way to mount the applesauce jar or get a new splitter, P/N 263032. :-) *****DON'T try this at home kids!***** ******************************** Since 1972 * Jim Myers * Telrad Electronics * Fort Wayne Indiana * ******************************** Electric Medic wrote: > OK, Has anybody had a complaint of these D52W20\ITC222 that will > intermittently shutdown and sometimes come back on by itself.
