I would argue the "being more reliable statement" I work on them allmost
every day now--of course we are selling lots of them too. New technology
just brings new bugs. The Hitachi LCDRPTV's have a connector that was
either improperly installed or just plain faulty on one of its boards
causing intermittant video symptoms. I've replaced quite a few Samsung DLP
color wheels--a couple of main digitals---and one DMD board (digital mirror
device) All 3 of them in one customers two sets. The sony lamp syndrome
has been finally figured out--but I can't remember how many "upgrades" I did
before finding that it was just the bulb manufacturer to begin with
(phillips bulbs that is) When I talk about reliability about these sets
now--I say it with a "it will LAST very long" other than "It won't break
down" based on the fact that there won't be any crts wearing out. But dey
gots dare problems tho.

TV Doctor
Avalon, Wi

PS havent touched a LCOS yet. Don't even think we sell them ----yet.
Heard they have fantastic pictures.
