Dan...

Just curious... where exactly were the bad
connections that caused the blinking on & off?
I don't know about everyone else, but I'd like to
know the circuit of origin to better understand what's
really happening with the pix (i.e. H.V., sweep,
video...). I know the crime is solved, but I still
wonder who the perpetrator was.

> Thanks Tony, The set was fixed already. It was

> >Make sure there is no leaky fluid on the
anode caps

> > > I've done several of these in the past
with no
> problems, I have tried
> > > several attempts to be sure the wires
are seated
> properly on this
> >repair.
> >Is
> > > there something else that could be
causing this
> flashing on/off
> >picture -OR-
> > > is it definitely a common "Not making
contact"
> problem on the HV
> >splitter,
> > > I'll keep trying to resecure the
anodes, and
> report back. Any comments!

> > > >
> > > >You have a kink in one or more of
the HV leads
> in the splitter. Pull
> >the
> > > >leads back out and remove the
splitter. Take a
> section of scrap HV
> >cable
> >a
> > > >strip it back about 1/4 inch.
Probe the
> chimney slowly and you will
> >find
> > > >the bottom, then very easily press
in and you
> will feel the lead seat.
> >Do
> > > >this a few times until you get the
feel of it.
> If the lead kinks if
> >feels
> > > >a
> > > >little different. Examine the lead
after each
> try. A couple of min
> > > >practice like this until you learn
the feel
> will save lots and lots of
> >time
> > > >and frustration.

> > > > > Hi Fellow techs,
> > > > >
> > > > > Just replaced bad #205064 HV
Trippler in
> this RCA PTK169PFA (model
> >RCA
> > > > > P46720LV) Chassis. Now the
set will come on,
> and all (3) color guns
> >are
> > > > > working, But the picture is
Flashing on/off.
> Can hear a slight
> > > >"clicking"
> > > > > noise coming from the set as
the picture
> flashes on and off in a 1
> > > >second
> > > > > cycle.
> > > > >
> > > > > Any Help? All I have done is
replace the
> trippler.
