No! Its so they can put "self cleaning" in the features list on the box so
people would think they dont have to have it serviced. When you sell things
for $39.95 with a 90 day labor warranty you dont want the customer to think
that it might need a $25 to $45 cleaning as most servicers charged just
because they rented a tape with a bad spot on it.
