All that stuff will fit in a container smaller than a milk crate. It isn't
really a problem.

Where do you put your food and clothes and bedding if the bus is full and
weighed down with spare parts?

Yeah, always carry all that stuff.

plugs, fuses, valve cover gaskets, etc.

OK, need advice from all the VW mechanic wizards:  Still thinking about the
5,000 mile cruise to the Bug-In and the KG Treffen with the CA 1 highway cruise
thrown in.  Will drive the Baja.  Everything on this car is new or recently
gone through except for the generator.  Brushes are still good, generator works
fine and was replaced new, but about 100,000 miles ago.  So, should I play it
safe and just replace the generator with a new one before the trip?

And don't give me any crud about replacing it with an alternator.  I think
generators are much more reliable and I'm not pulling the juices that require
an alternator.
