Hi John,
You need to set up your Message Centre number. This is why it is taking you
there.
To find this out, ring your provider. They may even be able to send you a
text with the settings in it, to save you putting them in manually.

Dear List,
I am a new member and have a puzzling problem with my new N82.
Every method I use to send a text is brought to a sudden stop when something
called "The Message center" opens. I am unable to send the text from there.
The only keys that work in that screen are the soft keys and when I press
the soft key 2, I am back in the body of the message.
I can make and receive calls, receive texts but unable to send them from
either the contacts list or in messaging. I cannot reply either as each road
takes me to the message center.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. I am using talks demo at the
moment on the Nokia N82.
