Hi Eleanor,

it is not Voda, but Nuance that keep us in business by not allowing Voda to
give away the Premium version.

All the best

Steve

Well isn't that very considerate of Voda then Steve, allowing you guys to
stay in business *smile*. Now from another member on the list, I found that

when I had lost my phone for example, I did on this person's heresay ask
Vodafone for the £50.00 which enabled me to purchase Talks Premium and they
gave it to me!!!! Don't tell anyone *smile*.

Hi John,

The reason they don't include Talks Premium is so that people buy it from
accessibility dealers. In order to get it free, you need some cut down,
otherwise Accessibility Dealers would lose out. So there needs to be some
advantages to not getting it from Voda.

All the best

Steve

Hi Jackie,

A friend of mine has talks standard on his mobile under contract from
Vodaphone. I really don't understand why they don't include talks premium
with the package as the monthly fee is more than enough to cover it.

I agree it is worrying as often sales assistants don't even know what
talks
is.

I wonder how many o2 agents it takes to sort a message center number? lol

Kindest regards, John

Hi John

These providers wouldn't know a Message Centre if it bit them on the
bum! (lol). My friend told them it might be this, to which one replied:
"What's that"? Imagine working for O2 or Voda or any other network and
not knowing that! I find it worrying quite honestly.

Hi Jackie,

Thanks for the support. It shows the difference between Nokia and other
providers like o2. I have experienced the run around from the
government.lol First time for o2.lol

Nokia were so helpful, they even called back yesterday to make sure I
had the problem solved. That is good PR.

I had never come across the message center and hopefully anyone who has
this problem in the future can just say to there provider that Nokia has
given them the message center number for every one of their models.

Thanks for the image boost as well. smile

Kindest Regards, John

Hi

Not Steve, but a better model (smiles).

This business of ringing providers and being told a load of rubbish,
only to get the proper answer once you've been round the houses really
does my head in. I had a friend ring me the other day saying virtually
the same thing as yourself about his texts. He couldn't send or
receive, however, though had been using his phone quite happily for some
time using texts. But he went to his network provider, and was told the
phone would need to be sent away because it had to be unlocked. What a
load of crap! He was using the phone, so how did it need to be unlocked
for that network? I suggested to him that he get his Message Centre
number checked out and this was, in the end, his problem too. I just
get really irritated when network providers come out with all sorts of
garbage, giving a customer who doesn't know what to do next the
run-around.

Glad you are now sorted.

Hi Steve,

Thanks once more for your help. I called Nokia this morning only to be
told exactly what you had stated. I then called O2 and spoke to a
charming young woman who guided me through the procedure in a couple of
minutes, to put a number in the message center.

She of course apologised for the guy not giving me this information
yesterday. She said it is standard procedure to give a customer a
message center number and that every o2 agent is aware of this.

Problem solved and thanks.

Kindest Regards, John.

Hi John,

You need to set up your Message Centre number. This is
why it is taking you there.

To find this out, ring your provider. They may even be
able to send you a text with the settings in it, to save you putting
them in manually.

All the best

Steve

Dear List,

I am a new member and have a puzzling problem with my
new N82.

Every method I use to send a text is brought to a sudden
stop when something called "The Message center" opens. I am unable to
send the text from there. The only keys that work in that screen are the
soft keys and when I press the soft key 2, I am back in the body of the
message.

I can make and receive calls, receive texts but unable
to send them from either the contacts list or in messaging. I cannot
reply either as each road takes me to the message center.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. I am using
talks demo at the moment on the Nokia N82.

Kindest Regards, John
