Matt,

You can download everything, it won't help though with route calculation, as
this is done online.

It will only benefit you in terms of nearby views.

In terms of support and ongoing service, Vodafone are assuring us that they
have a license agreement with each and every one of us, and that they intend
on honouring that.

Being honest I don't see how they couldn't without being in breach of their
contract with each and every one of us.

One piece of advice I have to offer is that if your phone has a large enough

memory you should download the entire Wayfinder UK maps regularly if that is

possible. this way, if server support is stopped, you'll still have the maps

on the phone. It shouldn't take up more than a couple of gigs.

If the valid user check stops working because that also requires access to a

server, a way of cracking that aspect of the software will have to be found.

I for one will not be amused if I can't use Wayfinder simply because they've

decided to stop running the servers that support the GPRS parts of the
product. That's the only problem with Wayfinder, the fact that you must have

a GPRS connection in order to even open the app, and also to download route
data as and when its needed. However I'm sure you can download the complete
maps and store them on your phone instead.

Matt
