Graham,

People seem to have this idea that everything is about to stop, Wayfinder is
owned by the World's largest telecommunications giant, they are continuing
with GPS sat-nav products, thus the license with Tele Atlas and Nav Tech who
provide most of the maps will remain active and current.

In terms of the maps and POI data bases used by Access, as Vodafone are
continuing to use Way finder's systems to support new upcoming 360 products,
and Wayfinder Navigator is remaining a developed product, the maps and data
bases used by Access will remain up to date. This is because Way finder's
products share the same back end servers.

Therefore if they update servers with data for Navigator and other 360
products, Access to will benefit.

also is the price of this program reduced as there is no further
development?

Generally I would say that anyone would have to be plane mad to buy a
program where all development has been discontinued. It is also reasonable
to have concerns about ongoing future support. On the other hand, there is
really no alternative. there is the free Loadstone GPS which does work with

TALKS but it is free and while quite a lot has been done to gather points of

interest together this is no substitute really for detailed maps. Maps and
presumably map data will also become out of date too over time. How long
does the contract with the map supplier last that ensures the maps are kept
up to date?

Hi

Neil & Steve, how many licences are still available? It's all a bit
bizzar as modern software is sold electronically, thus virtual, so a
number isn't defined. The developers would have generated a code
generation system that would exceed projected sales.

four kinds of freedom, for the users of the software:

    * The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).
    * The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your
needs (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
    * The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor
(freedom 2).
    * The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements
to the public, so that the whole community benefits (freedom 3). Access
to the source code is a precondition for this.
