Ross I'm so sorry you're absolutely right. I thought that MOARS sent bytes
directly to the MIDI but in fact it only allows you to leave out repeated
status bytes. It still checks sysex messages right through before sending
the first byte, on my machine taking ~ 4 secs for a 50K message.

All we can do is ask our eSteemed authors if they can either miss out this
checking business (I suspect not), or maybe give us the option of suspending
Steem during the processing of sysex packets, so that the sequencing program
doesn't know there has been a delay.
