I sure hope that you get to work with QB Pro Bill. Not only will you be
able to have an easier time of entering all of the data, you will be able to
classify items directly to certain "facets" and then make detailed reports.
One of the best benefits will be that there will be no need for many labor
intensive hours to be sent by the accounting firm. All you will have to do
is send them a disk with the accountants copy on it... and they will be able
to view everything and be able to make their analysis from that.
Any changes they need to make (within some limitation) will be so simple, as
they send the disk back and you install their edits to what you've already
worked on with no interruption of your working on the books.
I love this program and have been using it for about 14 years.

Judges dinners were in the 400 paid dinners. So were some of the table
items
(table cloths).
Flowers were not and are a separate cost item.
The notebooks also were not in dinner cost.
Our accounting system is not a detailed cost tree up system that permits
fully detailed analysis down to such items as the notebooks etc but it is
getting closer.
That is why I recommended at the Jan05 Board meeting that we move to Quick
Books Pro accounting software. It will give us more ability to record and
understand the cost details relative to an activity with in an event. As you
know, I have significanntly expanded the current chart of accounts system to
better present revenue and cost by activity (Conformation, Obedience,
Herding,
Agility, Tracking, Working Dog Sport etc.).This has been a major effort and
I'll
continue to work to get and provided better and more detailed financial
decision information to the Board, committee chairs and the membership.
