Looking at the past few weeks, and all the nasty things that have been said and
done I can only sit back here and ask why. To what purpose did it become
necessary to have friends turn on friends in such a manner? What is so
important about being elected to a position that does not pay, that it is
acceptable for good-hearted people to be so mean to one another? What is so
all fired wrong that it has us tearing something that has been so important to
us all apart in such a manner? What is gained by the actions that have been
perpetrated here? What happened to the family that at one time was in it for
the love of the dogs? Why has it become so dysfunctional?

A while back someone wrote a great piece on why it is important to be part of
the club. What ever happened to that mentality? To be honest, once the dust
clears, will we go back to status quo or will the actions of the past few weeks
forever taint us? How many of us have lost friends over this debalicle? How
can anyone in good conscience recommend someone to become part of such a
dysfunctional group? Who is next to be torn down? Me? You? What happened to
the PC that I remember? The one where not everyone agreed, and it would
sometimes get heated but in the end we all, for the most part, remained friends
in a common cause?

There was a time, not so long ago that I could email any one of the people on
this list with a question or a comment and we were instant friends because we
had something very important in our lives in common, our dogs. Now, I am not
so sure that were I to do the same that someone would not look at me and wonder
if I had some ulterior motive for making a statement, or wishing someone well.
To me this fact is painful. We have all become suspicious of one another and
for what reason? If I walk up to Lew tomorrow and give him a hug, does that
mean I do not like Evan? Not in my mind. I look up to them both. If I hug
Ken and ask after Patty, will someone look at me and think I am just trying to
sway him for a placement in the breed ring? What has the club come to that any
and all actions by a person have to have some sort of motive? Why are we
choosing sides? When did it cease to be about the dogs and become who can do
what for whom or what someone believes is wrong or right? What are we doing to
ourselves and our dogs?

Why?
