Okay now I think we are getting carried away, we are not talking about non-pure
bred GSD and PAL numbers at the national.
I do see some of the reasoning behind the dogs with disqualifying faults taking
the national awards. Some of you had some great points but if they are allowed
to compete in AKC shows are we being prejudice by not allowing them to perform
at the national for the big award?
White is just a color, hanging ears yea I would hate to see that too but they
are German Shepherds and no its not acceptable and shouldn't be for
conformation, neither should ears that wave at you, but we wont go there .....
a dog with a disqualifying fault does NOT make it a bad German Shepherd, it
could be the smartest most highest ranking dog of the country, it could be hero
to someone or a family it saved, its not only looks, its what is in side the
loyalty, the working dog, fearless, brave need I go on. Just because it may
not win a "beauty" "contest doesn't make it a lesser german shepherd. I
personally like pretty and would love to see beautiful German Shepherds in both
venues, which I do.... but I also see some Champions that I wonder how they
ever became a CH.
Like I said I do understand why some are against this, there are some very
valid points but I still say that WGDS should be allowed to receive the award
at the National. Just my opinion

sn't really a purebred GSD, is that dog now eligible for the Obedience

Performance dogs excel at their sport, they don�t have to be intact and
honestly most of them are not conformation dogs. The GV title is to award
their achievement as a great performance dog, period. As long as they are
pedigreed GSDs that are AKC registered, why shouldn�t they have equal
rights in the performance ring at the National? Does their color or floppy
ears inhibit their greatness in performance or discount the fact that they
earned the award by being the best that day? Does having a DQ make them any
