I can answer this with experiences as well as studying them all my life, as
well as the domestic dog!
NO, one wolf I had for 14 years was 18 when she died. Had a superb healthy
life and died of
just old age natural causes. The other was a huge male I had for 5 years,
mean character so I let
him go to folks who worked them differently than I did. I have seen many
others who are cared
for in a manner similar to what I also had done with my boarding dogs,
rescues & my own GSDs.
As I mentioned, I also raised, trained & boarded horses, an animal that will
"colic" quite similar to
the bloat/torsion on the dogs. It's tough with them because they cannot
vomit. I will never believe,
JMHO, genetics of certain bloodline and/or combos make any of them prone to
this ailment. I've
been around for a long time and it was my daily life since a young girl.
