We have several lines that produce a lot of bloat (and toxic gut lately)
and no, not "just" American line show dogs...working dogs bloat, German dogs
bloat, different breeds bloat, heck mutts bloat...that said one of the
advantages of pure bred dogs is that we are able to study pedigrees and make
intelligent (??) breeding decisions.
As far as why it hasn't been eradicated, well some people breed away from
it and others double and triple up on things...

Seems to me If that were the
case it would be pretty easy to eliminate as we would know by now where
it is coming from.
