Would not that be a bitch! To have your name mentioned when they ring the
bell. At least you wouldn't have to go through the ride home.
I usually leave the arena when they do that bell thing, but last year I just
put on my sunglasses.
I have passed the time when I picked up people at the airport, went to
weddings, or helped friends move furniture.
Now I see my friends with grandkids, attend services for those who went on
ahead to make room for me, and listen to what operations we all had.
I just performed on stage in a little theatre in upstate Michigan. I invited my
aunt to perform with me, and we did about an hour of magic. She is now 101.
I asked her if it wasn't hard being over 100 and having all her friends and
family die?
She replied, "Yes, but the people I hate are dying too, so it is worth it."
That is going to be my new attitude.

Nationals are important. So with excitement

this is human and not a sin.
But as we get closer, the details come together
and we enjoy, once again, the wonders of a new
National that has never happened before.
I do have a gripe though and I have earned the
right to be grippe! I am not going again this
year! Now that's worth griping about!

I don't know...everyone I have talked to IS
excited about the National. Most of us are
working hard to get ready, organized, trained, in
the right weight ( the dogs ) and coat and READY
with WAY over stuffed luggage.
Can't say ANY of us are excited about having to
leave a dog behind OR a 3 day drive coming and
going. But.. I actually spoke to a friend in LA
that is even happy about that.
