[ SHOWGSD-L ] Tail hair eating

I have a beautiful 1/2 year old girl here who is eating the hair on her tail
off.
No skin problems and the rest of her coat is thick and shiny.
She loves to chase her tail and catch it and when she does she strips the
hair off it.
I put her in with a young male thinking she needed a playmate. She does it
anyway to entertain him!
I hate to put a plastic collar on her and I bet she could do it anyway as
she is so agile.
I am thinking about bandaging it but not sure what to use. Any ideas? Maybe
something that tastes awful on it?
It would be a good time now as it is cold and not raining.
The only other thing I could do is keep her in the house all the time.
Any ideas are appreciated... other than sell her to the many that offered to
do that in St. Louis.
