I don't think that the reproducing ability should be a factor in judging a
GSD. I agree with Mort and Jack. I actually had not made up my mind on
this, but now believe they are right.
I think I will disagree here based on this part of the standard;
The dog must have two testicles. Why does the standard require testicles?
Reproduction?
That then leads to "how does a judge know a dog cannot reproduce?" On that day
they do not. So it is the handler, owner and breeders to make that call when
showing a sterile dog and or bitch. It does push the envelope and we all know
it. And as our pool of conformation GSD owners and breeders shrink because of
such antics, wipe the smile off your faces and kiss the good times goodbye,
because you are causing the demise of conformation GSD showing. Same thing as
popping pills at ringside and oh yea dying the dog/bitch before you go into the
ring. Cheating is cheating and no one should be rewarded for such behavior.
No matter who or what you did or think you are doing for the beloved breed!
