And as a P.S….
that this is a foreign strain to North America, virtually 100% of the dogs have
no immunity… so 100% of the dogs who are exposed will spread/shed the virus,
and most of those (over 80%) will become ill (at least to some degree) while
the others who do not show clinical signs will just have a sub-clinical
infection that doesn’t cause any outward signs to us.
At least, for a “new” disease, it won’t decimate our canine population like
parvovirus did when it came on the scene. I wonder if it will become as
widespread….?
