I agree in regards to Carmen Evan and the conflict....I would think to best
represent the GSDCA it would have to be an either/or situation and I doubt we
will see that.
There is certainly merit to fresh and new people...would love to see John given
the opportunity.

I hope there is no question about my opinions. I have always liked Carmen,
and consider him a friend. He has worked hard for years for the AKC, and served
on the board, at one time with me.
But, I have always felt it was a conflict to serve the board and the AKC at
the same time, as when a conflict came up, he or anyone else in that position
would be in a role and have to choose.
We have a chance this year to elect a man who has not served on the board,
but has been a judge for years and shown amazing integrity. The question is if
enough of the membership will agree. That will be handled at the election.
I expect we will hear from John Beemont directly, if he does agree to serve.
I will do all I can to urge him to make that sacrifice.

There can be no question that John Beemont would be a great addition to our
board. He is bright, has run a large organization for years, and is dedicated
to the breed.
I have known John for years, and can find nothing that would not make him an
excellent president for the GSDCA. Now, I don't know yet who else might run,
so I am not saying there might not be another of value to our club. But, what I
do know is John would have been at the top of my list any time, and I have
heard he is going to run this year.
