I bought my first Rollei in Hong Kong in about 1954 and it was a 2.8C. I think it was the current model at the time but don't know for sure. In any case, there were chrome-plated metal "shields" around the F-stop and Shutter and I think the lock levers for the flash cable and shutter release were metal also. In any case I used it until around 1965 when I changed to a 3.5F to fit my Rolleimarin housing. Nothing ever broke on the 2.8C.
