 Don et al,

According to my "Nuttall's Standard Dictionary of the English Language" published about 100 years ago, the plural of goose is indeed geese. Group term for geese in flight is SKEIN. Group term for geese on the ground is GAGGLE.

Now see if anyone here knows what the term is for a group of CAPERCAILZIES is !!!

The book shows no plural for TORTOISE.

Happy New Year,
Jerry

Never knew what a Tortii was.

I have a problem here in that there are a lot of Canada Goose who hang around in the winter. My wife assures me that the plural is not Geese (there being no such thing as a Canada Geese) so I don't know what to call a batch of them.
