Boy, you're really making this idea more and more enticing by the moment. You sound like a salesman at a computer shop. Ha!

Hey that justifies the means lol. Besides, buying one now comes with an upgrade to win7, so you'll kill 2 birds with one stone... Well, that's true, but they're both pretty essential. I've just gotdifferent stuff going on each system, and one's my lean mean clean machine.Maybe it's time for another system. grin. Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: "D!J!X!" <megamansuperior@xxxxxxxxxxx>O yes I agree, jumping on the latest OS wagon is not a good thing, but since you said it was one of your systems, I asumed it was a spare one...that's how I run things here, run the latest stuff on non esential systems, that way the bugs stay confined to that corner of my office :-) D!J!X! -----Original Message----- From: realmusicians-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:realmusicians-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Tom Kingston Sent: Wednesday, October 07, 2009 1:20 AM To: realmusicians@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [realmusicians] Re: Hello From D!J!X! Thanks D!J!X! I appreciate your obviously 64 bit eager offer, grin, but I take a more laid back approach to OS leaps. My general policy is to wait (usually a year) after a new OS has been released. That's usually how long it takes Microslop to actually get it working well, if possible. Although I must say, I haven't heard much of anything but praise for Windows 7. So that's a good sign. But I'll still take it slow. Thanks again, Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: "D!J!X!" <megamansuperior@xxxxxxxxxxx>Hey Tom, if you own sonar 8 I believe the installer itself will instal the64 bit version, or there's a 64bit installer on the cd, but yes it is x64ready, and quad core ready as well! If you've got a system with at least 4gb of ram and a good processor, take win7 x64 for a spin, you won't regretit... MS has the RC version (free) still available, meaning that you canstill get keys till oct 21, and since it's no longer available for download, I can get a copy of the iso to you if you'd like, or you can download a 90 day trial of the real thing while supplies last from the springboard blog... I have both x86 and x64 isos on my system... But the x64 world rocks and looks very promising when it comes to speed and stability... Hey D!J!X! Welcome aboard.First question. Is Sonar 8 ready for 64 bit processing or does it requirea special 64 bit version. I'm just asking because you mentioned it and I'm too lazy to look in the manual right now. Grin. Also, the thought of upgradingto Windows 7 64 bit on one of my systems is rolling around in the back ofmy head.
