  I purchased it. It did not work for me. The meter gave correct
readings only in a certain EV range but not all. I can't quite recall
what it was, but it had to do with mercury cells always giving a
constant voltage until death and alkaline batteries varying voltage
depending on it's current state.

Silver oxide batteries have a constant voltage too, but there may have been some other issue that made the adapter not work for you (e.g. amperage).
