According to the Kodak Master Darkroom Dataguide (1958 and 1971, first
printing, Pg 26) KRST 1:9 dilution is used to test for residual silver in fixed
prints as a more stable alternative to the Residual Silver Test Solution ST-1,
sodium sulfide solution. For residual thiosulfate in washed films or prints,
HT-2 (diluted acetic acid and silver nitrate) is employed.

I don't recall a test that used Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner for fixing.
In the darkroom we used Kodak HT-2 Test for hypo retention. see
attachment.
In Photo Tech in Kodak Park there was also an automated test. The
methylene blue test gave a meausure of hypo retention per cm2.
I don't havea recollect

It seems to me that Kodak had an alternative test for degree
of fixing using KRST diluted (by memory)1:10 This was an
alternative to the sodium sulfide test and was supposed to be
more stable and give stains more like those in the Kodak chart.
Bob Shanebrook might remember or else I will see if I can find
the publication that had this.

DEAR ROBERT,
I got staining in the whites of my fiber based prints often
when I combined the Rapid Selenium Toner with the HCA. Never got it
following your sequence below.
CHEERS!

Bob -
This was also my experience. I have read that KRST will stain if a
print is underfixed.
