This is the test for washing. The one I am thinking of is for residual silver.
Residual Silver Test ST-1 for negatives
 ST-1 Stock Solution
Water................100 ml
Sodium Sulfide, anhydrous.........2.0 grams

Life of the stock solution in a stoppered bottle not more than 3 months.
To use dilute one part stock with 9 parts water. Place a drop on a clear portion of the negative and allow to stand for 2 to 3 minutes. The blot off with fresh blotting paper. Any stain indicates incomplete fixing.
The stain chart used for the residual hypo test can be used for this test.
Life of the diluted test solution is one week.
This is from an edition of "The Kodak Black & White Darkroom Dataguide"  It does not have the Selenium toner version of this test but refers to Kodak publication F-40 which might have it.
The reason this is specified for negatives is that after a prolonged time it leaves a permanent stain. It cab be used for paper too if a sample of unexposed paper is processed with the prints for purposes of testing.
I have used both this and the KRST version and both work.
This is a good test if you are planning to tone prints in either a sulfiding toner or KRST (or whatever is sold for the purpose now).

I  don't  recall a test  that used  Kodak  Rapid Selenium Toner for  fixing.

In the  darkroom  we  used Kodak HT-2 Test   for  hypo  retention.  see attachment.

In Photo Tech in Kodak Park there  was also an automated   test.   The methylene  blue test gave  a meausure of  hypo  retention   per  cm2.

I don't havea recollect

It seems to me that Kodak had an alternative test for degree
of fixing using KRST diluted (by memory)1:10  This was an
alternative to the sodium sulfide test and was supposed to be
more stable and give stains more like those in the Kodak chart.
Bob Shanebrook might remember or else I will see if I can find
the publication that had this.
