According to the Kodak literature a correctly developed T-max 400 negative should look a bit thin.
In my experience, if you develop T-Max 400 to subjective densities similar to that of Tri-X or other "conventional" films, you'll end up with very difficult-to-print negs with very dense highlights. This is, in fact, the classic complaint I've heard against T-Max films in general, and doesn't come as a surprise.
