DEAR PETER,

I know one cannot slander the dead. Can one libel the dead?

                        CHEERS!

                                    BOB

Tom,

I didn't intend to incite a posthumous, ad hominem, libelous attack against
Barry. So lets please keep comments to the topic at hand rather than
personal. The main point I was making is that there are clear errors in
the article by Erwin Puts relating to statements about sharpness, resolution
and grain and I used Barry's book to convey where this "common?"
misunderstanding is explained.

Richard, I'm not old enough to know where else these ideas were elucidated
and published, so thanks for pointing them out.

Richard,

Barry Thornton's book 'Edge of Darkness' sets the BS-o-meter off. I'm
not sure what he really contributed with his books apart from a sense of
self-certainty.
