Steve,

I think that the exact method depends on what software you have installed on
your computer. For me, because I have Easy CD Creator, I simply pressed
enter on the downloaded file, having put a blank CD in my CD writer, and
then pressed enter on whichever button set the burning process in motion.
Shortly afterwards, the CD was ejected automatically and the upgrade was
simply a case of inserting the CD into the PTR2 and leaving it to do its
thing - it probably took around 1-2 minutes for the upgrade itself.

If you don't have Easy CD Creator, it might be somewhat different but
generally speaking, you are trying to burn an ISO image file to the CD which
is different from burning the ISO file onto the CD as a file in its own
right. I think that the ISO file is like a picture of the whole structure
of the CD whereas, if you burn the file itself onto the CD, it becomes part
of the new file structure and the ISO file contents will not work properly.
I've probably not explained this well but let me know if it is gobbldy gook
and I'll try again when I've not had half a bottle of red wine!! (Smile).
Most burning softwares have a particular method of burning an ISO file onto
the CD so it might be worth looking in your software help file.

I have written to a contact I know in Plextor asking him to let me know what
the main changes have been and will pass on this information when I find
out.

Kind regards,

Jamie

hi jamie.
please can you explain how to install the update for those with the ptr2? do
you just download, burn the file to disc and then insert it in the ptr2? or
do you click on the file in the directory where it downloads and does the
file automatically burn to an empty disc.
sorry for a silly question but i've no idea, smiles.

steve.
