Interesting, I wonder if the reason they are doing this is because they lack so much confidence in Win7 that they're including XP. ?? I also wonder if this is again going to extend the XP SP3 support date. It's certainly a good selling point, but I'm curious of the motives. -Clint God Bless, Clint Hamilton, Owner www.OrpheusComputing.com www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Kaulback" Hello listers, MS has decided to include a free installation of XP SP3 within Windows 7 Pro, Business and Ultimate via a download. So forget compatibility mode altogether! If you need to install in XP then you can just start XP within 7 and install your much needed apps. So if you have some older apps which do not claim compatibility with Windows 7 then you are not out of luck. See this http://community.winsupersite.com/blogs/paul/archive/2009/04/24/secret-no-more-revealing-virtual-windows-xp-for-windows-7.aspx or http://tinyurl.com/dg22sm and the MS site http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/business/archive/2009/04/24/coming-soon-windows-xp-mode-and-windows-virtual-pc.aspx or http://tinyurl.com/djm9z2 With Windows 7 running far more smoothly on older hardware than Vista would, this is definitely a good move.
