Oh no, of course not, that's what I figured. There hasn't been
a board with ISA slots made in quite a while and you'll
probably only find drivers up to Win98 for ISA devices. >Win98
may "see" ISA slots, but it's doubtful there are any drivers
for any ISA devices after Win98. There may be small few for XP
(or XP may have some built-in). I still have a stock of old
ISA motherboards and ISA cards. I don't toss anything.

Right.
However, by "ancient," I'm not thinking PCI. My ISA parallel
cards are not
likely to be compatible with either the motherboard or with
Windows 7.
Drivers? They probably worked with DOS :-)
Besides, it's getting more and more difficult to find older
hardware, such
as parallel ports. Even today, they may be available only on
eBay.
Other hardware is the same. Salesmen in computer stores laugh
at people who
ask for analog fax-modems. However, nothing has been able to
replace the
efficiency and clear output of my beloved Winfax 10.
That's why I'll probably keep my XP machines running for a very
long time to
come.

Just because a mobo didn't come with a PP, doesn't mean a PP
won't be compatible with it. The add-on cards should work on
any mobo, providing they have the correct slot (PCI or
PCI-express). But of course in the case where they may be
"ancient", they may have not have drivers for XP or Vista, etc.
