ML - yes, it can be quite a shock to the system when you discover the time you've been wasting [hunting for malware outside of Safe mode]. I imagine a lot of people here, even if they don't do it as part of their work, like to help out friends and relatives by scanning their computers, and I wouldn't like them to waste months of their life, as I did at first, scanning to no avail. That's why I'm so emphatic about imparting this little tidbit. [I have to say, I miss Guitar Man's contributions on subjects like this - he was very knowledgable on virii, and always had a healthy urge to write about his "collection"; those who feel like a trip down memory lane should check out the YahooGroups message archive. <g>] Don - thanks for concurring, and yes, reading back, I can see how that confusion in my wording could occur - my bad.
