[pchelpers] Welcome newbies

We just a surge of new members on the list (more than we've had for
years). I'm not sure why, but suddenly we've got lots of new friends.
Here are some of the partial id's. You all know who you are! Big welcome
all. I hope you all got your preview copy of my book after joining (it
helps to know if everything all works).
If you don't know me, I'm the guy that keeps everyone well behaved on
this list. Still, in our case I get very little work of that kind. It's
great to have you here.
I'm curious about one thing. Can you tell me about yourself a little
bit, and please give me some idea what gave you the sudden impulse to do
it? I'm dying to know.
