This won't work if you are trying to find a file on your installation cd.
All the files are contained in compressed files called .cab files.

The best way to replace a corrupt file is to let sfc do it for you, then you
don't need to know anything about files or where they are or anything.

When sfc tells you it has found a corrupt file, it gives you some options,
one of which is to replace it from the installation cd. All you need to
know is that ALL the windows files are in <cd drive letter>\win98. Just
make sure this is the path that sfc can see then all will happen
automagically!!!
This also works if you find some files are older than they should be.

You may ask "how can a file be older than it should be?" - easy, sometimes
programs install their own version of windows files without checking with
you first, and often these files are older than the installation you have.
If you install a lot of stuff then this happens quite often.

Cheers
Nigel
