And I second that too - to be more specific, we've been very happy with the 
price, performance and uptime of OEL on Dell 2950s.  We're running last year's 
x86-64 chip (don't remember what it's called) and I've heard great things about 
the newer Nehalem chips.

- you should look to go on an x86 (maybe a Nehalem chip) on OEL or RHEL.
