Hi David. It happily does have the attention, and has been moved far beyond
the capabilities of the optacon II. Unhappily, its Luddite designer is very
ill now, cannot move from bed unless he takes WAY TOO MUCH medications just
to survive which have their own peculiarities, and losing weight now.
Cancer tests will be done soon. I have an appointment on December 7. So,
let's hear it for the frog that ate Tokyo for them poor lost on Pearl Harbor
day.

I still have my attachment for the Smith-Corona typewriter.
That was huge for me in the 80s, when I got my bachelors degree at Ohio
State.
I still use the Optacon to read mathematics material, so I can tutor math on
line.
I wish that the Optacon would get the attention again, because it will never
be replaced.

There were two different typewriter lenses.
One was made for the Smith-Corona line of electrics which had a moving
carridge.
The other attachment was for the IBM Selectrics, which had a ball that moved
along a fixed-carridge. That particular attachment had a rod that hung down
that you aligned with the little arrow thing that denoted the ball's
position which was located in a slot just above the keyboard.
Each attachment had a power supply as I recall with a slot where you plugged
the end of the Optacon's camera cable in.

I have several lens attachments here (someone snatched one not because he
needs it but because he is a horder of Anything) for the "selectric?" I
think but not for any of the IBM. They look rather clunky. If this would
work for you, Judy, let me know and I can send you one. Let me know what

I still use my electronic typewriter and Optacon for doing cheques.
When I had a dot matrix printer I could also use that and do cheques on
the
computer, but my current HP Deskjet printer won't take a cheque as it
regards them as too small.
