Actually, I think you should say "since the demise of Sarnoff". OTA 
Broadcasting is a SYSTEM. It INCLUDES stations, Networks, transmission 
facilities, licenses, studios, distribution networks, regulations, 
affiliation agreements, receivers, viewers, advertisers...(the list goes 
ON!). But  most importantly, it REQUIRES leadership. With a vacuum of 
leadership comes a lot of nothing, which is just about where we are in 
Broadcasting.
