No, Craig. I said exactly what I meant to say. You get more and more stubborn
as you argue, and that makes you ever more vulnerable to end up wrong. So then,
when the cycle repeats, and it has repeated far too many times, I do enjoy
pointing this out. But it's your own way of arguing that makes this so easy to
do.
Really? If so, how did you miss, or forget, all of the relevant
points? Ditto for the subject article?
Go back and read the report Bert. We did not miss a thing in
terms of what you wrote.
Let me repeat: Craig, ASSUMING what you said about the 1992 report is true,
then you evidently either missed what the report said, or you forgot what it
said. Because Craig, what you and the subject article "explained," about
whether 4K was worth it or not, had no relation at all to what I explained in
my post. None. And it does *not* take a mountain of words to get to the nub of
this.
Again: With 4K, much greater values of FOV are possible, than what is possible
with HD. The seasickness factor *now can become an issue*. Before anyone can
answer the question of whether 4K is worth it or not, they have to answer the
question "how much FOV is desirable, and how much FOV is too much?" Simple
question! You, and the article, never even addressed it!
For some reason, you keep trying to drown out the discussion with irrelevant or
tangential points. HDR, for example, has NOTHING to do with whether 4K is
needed or not. It's an orthogonal issue. Your overabundance of irrelevant words
only makes me think that you have no clue.
So, FOV can take another leap upward, with 4K, that HD cannot
support. Where is the discussion of tradeoffs of achieving
greater FOV?
In forums that discuss high end home theater systems, commercial
theaters, and special venue entertainment.
And not in any if your supposed "explanations" of whether 4K TV is "needed" or
not. I guess you still don't understand?
I do not have a single regret about buying that rear projection
HDTV.
Another example of how you get lost, Craig. YOUR point was that TV is not
central to people's lives. This was YOUR reason for why people would not want a
TV draped on a wall. And yet, this bulbous behemoth of a TV you owned was far
more intrusive! So quit with your nay-saying, just for the sake of disagreeing.
Bert
