Steve Jaggers for pointing it out when we pulled up. Large but
slender-looking buteo with white head divided by darkish eyeline in center,
white throughout underside with no belly band, and reddish-orange back
color. Wing coverts almost totally white on underside, primary bases
showing white on upperside. Fun to bird (albeit briefly) with Colby, and

SNBU continually circling, calling, and occasionally landing. Later, just
before I left, I saw the group circle the summit one last time and noted
