tree. I then saw it 3 times as it moved through the trees. Grayish overall,

sandpiper, shorter than nearby Lesser Yellowlegs, and slighter in build
than adjacent Long- billed Dowitcher, with longer legs and shorter bill
with decurved tip. Greenish yellow legs. Juvenile, based on scaly pattern
on wings. Chestnut-streaked top of head, prominent pale supercilium. In
flight, it was smaller and shorter-winged than Lesser Yellowlegs, with
white across the base of the tail, and no wing bars. Susan Kirkbride took
photos and will submit them with her ebird checklist."

Access area while occasionally resting on the mudflats out there, but one
individual in particular would fly much farther south but mostly stay on
the east side of the lake to the south of the boat launch. Gray-ish
upperwing on that individual for sure so don’t think it was a FOTE. Tail
didn’t seem too long on either and neither gave a small billed impression
despite the distance so don’t think they were ARTE either. "

defined wing bars and a ragged crest on head. No wing patches in flight.
Appears to be a juvenile or female. A forked tail probably age related. A
soft rising whistle like call as it fed on elderberries and flew back and
forth across the spring fed slough from Malheur NWR to BLM Campsite side.
Views from the last camp site along the slough looking downstream on the
left side most of the time and from a mowed area with no camping sign.
Birding with Russ Morgan, 10 am. Many other birders were attracted to us
with our camera lenses pointed upwards and enjoyed the view as we observed
the birds behavior for an hour."
