I am wondering if this Red-breasted Sapsucker is a hybrid with Red-naped?
I think pure Red-breasteds are pretty darn rare in Harney County but there
have been quite a few reports lately. Hybrids of the two are fairly
regular though. This bird has a bit too much dark in the crown and neck
area I think but would love to hear from others. It is nice Cory was able
to get a photo.
