the Big Creek drainage. This lovely olive and yellow Empid with a bold
eyering and wingbars responded excitedly to a PSFL playback song, but

yellow, similar to the other orestera male I reported earlier this season.
These yellow-headed males, which appears to be quite a common phenotype for
the subspecies, can be distinguished from lutescens by the distinct
supercilium stripe. Overall too yellow for celata."

meters down sandy road, after North Spit Rd ends. Bird was actively
singing, and hanging around Maple, Willows, and up in Fir tree. Seemed to
be getting attacked occasionally by territorial Orange-crowns. Mostly gray
upper side with whiter underside with yellow throat, and breast, and white
eye ring, and pink bill."
