I think I answered my own question about styles - it appears to only be happening when I paste text in (which I do frequently) from other programs, such as Dreamweaver. I guess my answer is to Paste Special . . . Unformatted Text. Makes me think, too, that I should be tackling the use of Styles more - it scares me *almost* as much as the thought of learning VBA!! Scot -----Original Message----- Perhaps I am having a brain cramp . . . For some reason I am getting as a "default" style - anytime I type text the "Strong + 11PT" is being applied. I can manually reset the style to normal each time, but Word seems to be defaulting to this style. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?? Thanks!
