If you go into the account (Tools>Email Accounts...go into the properties of
the account that's not working)....click on the button that says "Test
Account Settings" ... Does that work? If not, tell us which step didn't
work...it will show a list of them, then tell you what didn't work and show
you the details of the error.

Hello everyone,
I am trying to set up my Outlook email acct and I get
the following error message: The operation failed.
I use Window XP and I am able to open Outlook and get
a email message dialog box. When I click
<send/receive> that's when I get the error message.
I have checked and have the correct inbound/outbound
server addresses, acct setup, etc. And everyone says
"I never heard that type of error message before."
Great!! Any suggestions?
