As you might have guessed there are thousands of possible reasons why
something won't | isin't working the way you want.

If you mean the machine came loaded with windows XP home and it doesnt
work on your network there's hundreds of possible reasons.

XP home has some networking limitations compared to XP pro.

The biggest thing is you have to SELECT the CORRECT network type when
you configure it. XP in it's wisdom displays only 3 possible
configurations on the initial screen and the descriptions are not
explained sufficiently, the is a 2nd screen of network types available
which has more network types to select from. You can probably get away
with either of 2 types and have your machine work ok, however only one
type will yield the best performance. If you pick one of the 'wrong'
types the best you can hope for is partial communications, the computer
may work on the internet for web browsing and not work for email or ftp,
and you may or maynot be able to see any othe rmachines on your internal
network. If your using a hardware cable/DSL type router with multiport
switch then you should choose the network type where your machine is
directly connected to the internet full time this works the best. Feel
free to write off-list if you need more specific help.
