Noted...I'll pass your suggestions on to the Office team. You're not the

Subject: [mso] My Outlook 2003 nits

There is much to like added to Outlook 11. However, I am dismayed at what
was changed or removed.

It seems like MS thought the new viewer pane was the cat's meow. If on the
right, it seems space is not an issue within the pane. However, it is
impractical to keep the pane on the right if you also like to have the
folder tree and message list panes open unless you have one of those wide
screen monitors. So back to the bottom right my viewer pane goes with
overall loss of space as described below.

1) The header information in the preview pane needs to be customizable,
particularly as to type size. It takes up much more space than it used to.

2) When messages are grouped, the group header line is much thicker than it
used to be again taking more space than is necessary.

3) My email views typically use an "unread" filter. In XP, I could click on
the "mark as read" icon and have a msg or group disappear from view. Now it
only is marked as read and remains visible until I leave and return to the
folder. This makes my reading routine more cumbersome.

4) MS added useful info to the status bar when send/receiving, but took away
useful info from the Send/Receive Progress box.

5) I wish there was more ease of use added to views management.
Particularly, the ability to modify a view and apply the changes to every
folder currently using that view.

My .02

.....Peter
