<Copy> Just had to toss this one out there cos' I figured Linda would enjoy this...I have to learn Excel for my new job. NOT just to use it...but to program it. First...to save me from the Timesheet from hell!<g> Had to use it today...after two hours (!!!) of wrestling with it...I cursed and said...I'M PROGRAMMING THIS SOB TO MAKE IT EASIER!!!! <End> Dian- Would it make you feel better to hear my first programming assignment for a corporation was to write a word processor that would work corporate-wide, and in offices in other states? Me, just finished my sophomore year, and they wanted someone to write a program that was probably cheaper to buy than what they paid me. But, on the other hand, it was really a super-customized word processor. Management could call up any letter-head they wanted (there were 20 different letter-heads), have their letter translated and properly formatted into a Chinese equivalent, etc. When I was ready to present the application, my supervisor thought it would be nice if chairman were present for my presentation. I did not know the gent, and he was a little scary. Plus, they changed the terminals on me- instead of using 100s, they had me use 800s, and my program would not run! It was made for the 100 terminals only, something I did not know. I didn't know the users had better terminals, I just assumed if it worked on my supervisor's terminal, then it would work anywhere. I was VERY embarrassed. It took me four weeks to make modifications. I just talked to some friends there, and they are still using it! Dian, rest easy. The better you are, the more people will want you to do some "little simple thing" for them.
