I can see saving each year as a separate file. I think it would ease matters if you only had to search through smaller chunks of information. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Zielinski To: moneytalks@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, December 20, 2007 5:12 AM Subject: [moneytalks] Re: 2008 start Hi Nancy, I don't start a new account for a new year. My registers go back continuously from the time I started money talks back in May of 2005. Hope this is of some help. I would like to know what users do. Do you open a new file for 2008 with a beginning balance from where you left off. Do you keep adding on to the existing account? This seems like it could make bookkeeping more cumbersome? When I use the restrict by date feature, the starting balance isn't shown. Is there a way to show the running balance when you restrict by date? One last thing for this message I can not get the category summary function control G to work in any of my accounts accept my personal checking account. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem? Thank you and happy holidays. Nancy
